Avaava as a company
In the built environment domain, we offer accessibility consulting and surveys, as well as signage design services. Accessibility surveys can be carried out in connection with new building design or improvement of accessibility at sites to be renovated. All over Finland, our customers comprise operators for whom accessibility issues are topical. In recent years, our services have been of special interest for the municipal, social, and health care sectors, as well as for the cultural and accommodation domain.

For the communication and construction sectors, interdisciplinary co-operation with communication professionals and developers, design, architecture, production, disabled and elderly people’s associations, end users, and authorities ensures benefitting from the most up-to-date, interesting, and versatile information. Avaava has participated extensively in demanding accessibility, signage design, and accessibility survey projects; we are a sought-after partner.
Avaava is also an active member of several professional networks both in Finland and on the international level.
Our experts are trained accessibility surveyors and internationally certified accessibility auditors, sought-after speakers and trainers. Avaava Digital’s experts are IAAP-certified accessibility experts.
Avaava’s Business and Development Director Terhi Tamminen is a member of the Design for All Europe EIDD board, Avaava Oy is a member of the European Concept for Accessibility Network EuCAN and the European Network of Accessible Tourism ENAT, Avaava Digital Oy is a member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals IAAP. In addition, Avaava has been involved in the committee renewing the RT cards of the Building Information Foundation.
