Avaava and Avaava Digital Oy, a company owned by Avaava, jointly offer solutions related to accessibility of digital services and communication, accessibility of built environment, inclusive design methods, and signage design. Services for digital and built environment
In the field of digital services and communication, our customers include private and public sector organisations committed to ensuring the accessibility of their services and communications. We are engaged in auditing digital services; we provide extensive consulting and training related to accessibility of digital services and assist with web service reforms.
In the built environment domain, we offer accessibility consulting and surveys, as well as signage design services. Accessibility surveys can be carried out in connection with new building design or improvement of accessibility at sites to be renovated. All over Finland, our customers comprise operators for whom accessibility issues are topical. In recent years, our services have been of special interest for the municipal, social, and health care sectors, as well as for the cultural and accommodation domain.

Terhi Tamminen, Avaava’s CEO, is a member of the board of Design for All Europe EIDD; Avaava is a member of the European Concept for Accessibility Network (EuCAN) and of the European Network of Accessible Tourism (ENAT). Avaava Digital Oy is a member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP). Avaava Digital’s experts are IAAP-certified accessibility specialists.

Avaava is an active member of several international networks in the field and operates extensively in various positions of trust: Member of the Board of Design for All Europe EIDD, Member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), European Concept for Accessibility Network (EuCAN), and European Network of Accessible Tourism (ENAT). Avaava has participated in the task force for updating of the Building Information Foundations RT cards.
